Executive Director
$25-$28/hr commensurate with experience
25-30 hours a week
Flexible Hours, with some occasional remote work opportunities
Organization:
Founded in 1974, PVSCC mission is to serve the needs of Poway seniors and other marginalized populations by providing impactful and on-going social and supportive opportunities, as well as resources that support independence through volunteerism, fundraising, programming and access to material provisions.
Position:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic responsibility for PVSCC Nonprofit’s staff, program, expansion and execution of its mission. The ED will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:

Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, and communications as well as recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals

Actively engage and energize PVSCC Nonprofit staff, volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations, and funders

Support a strong board of directors, serve as ex-officio of each committee as well as seek and build board involvement.

Lead, guide and support paid staff and volunteers Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to all stakeholders including board, funders and other constituents
Fundraising and Communications:

Support and expand, as needed, fundraising activities to support existing program operations lead by both the City of Poway and PVSCC

Manage and refine all aspects of communications: web presence, newsletters or mailings, as well as create and support external relations with outside stakeholders through events, meetings and programming opportunities

Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities
Planning and New Business:

Assess and Design local expansion of NPO programming and bring ideas to Board as needed to meet the growing needs of PVSCC clients and other stakeholder population PVSCC serves
Education and Experience Required:
-
Prior experience managing an organization of minimum 1-3 staff

At least 2 years prior experience in a managerial or director-level role at a nonprofit.

Prior experience with, and knowledge of, nonprofit fundraising and development strategies, including grant management

A Bachelor's degree or equal work-related experience

A working knowledge of PC operating systems, Microsoft 365, Google Suite and Drive, Adobe, Canva and Wix

Good written and verbal communication skills

Financial acumen: Ability to oversee an existing budget and organizational financial audit

Ability to organize and manage tasks and resources effectively

Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and with groups

Relationship building: Ability to develop working relationships with the board, staff, donors, community partners and stakeholders

Ability to collaborate, motivate and delegate with all internal and external stakeholders
