About
Friends of Poway Seniors
The Poway Valley Senior Citizens Corporation was formed in 1974 and it is still here today. It has been quite a journey.
We are no longer the Poway Senior Center and our mission and vision have changed. However, our passion to positively impact lives has not wavered.
Please join us on our New journey as the Friends of Poway Seniors. We look forward to meeting you and serving our community in new and exciting ways.

Community lunches support Poway seniors by providing:
-
social opportunities to meet with others
-
budget-conscious seniors a lower-cost alternative to restaurant dining
-
Provides at least one hot meal a day for seniors who may not otherwise cook or buy complete meals for themselves

Friends of Poway Seniors was awarded a cooperative grant by the IRS so that our community seniors could participate in the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program.
Because of this grant and the dedication of our volunteer tax preparers, we assisted over 481 clients with their 2021 tax filings this year.
Thank you to the City of Poway for providing the tax preparation space at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center.
